BBQ Chuck Roast

This is a cheap but very tasty roast dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-3 pound) chuck roast

  • 2 cup barbeque sauce

  • 1 cup cooking wine sauce

  • 1 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 4 teaspoons minced garlic

  • 4 teaspoons butter

  • 1 medium onion, cut into 1/2-inch slices

  • 3 teaspoons white pepper

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 3 teaspoons onion powder

  • 3 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Season each side of the chuck roast with seasonings.

  2. Set slow cooker on Low and spread-out onion slices in a layer on the bottom of the pot. Save a few slices for the top of the roast.

  3. Heat cooking oil in a skillet over medium high heat until the oil shimmers. Brown seasoned roast in the hot oil, about 3 minutes per side. Place on top of the onion slice layer, add butter, and pour BBQ sauce, cooking wine, and Worcestershire sauce over the top. Cover with saved onion slices.

  4. Cover and cook on Low until the beef is very tender, 8 to 10 hours.
