My morning skin care routine

Taking care of your skin at the beginning of each day can do amazing things in preserving its youth and beauty!

WHY MORNING SKINCARE IS SO IMPORTANT

Welcome to your blog post. Use this space to connect with your readers and potential customers in a way that’s current and interesting. Think of it as an ongoing conversation where you can share updates about business, trends, news, and more.

A before bed skincare routine is often planned to target specific needs of the skin while it uplifts overnight, whether it be aging, sensitivity, scaly, itchy, and/or dry patches. A morning skincare routine can help to protect and preserve the skin during the day.

“I'm a better person when I moisturize.”

Missing out on your morning skincare routine has the possibility to cause a variation of problems, such as clogged pores, acne, and leaving the skin more permitting to damage caused by pollution and the sun’s harmful rays. Over time, all of these elements can lead to hasty aging and a tiresome complexion.

A nighttime and morning skincare routine work as a team, helping to defend and maintain the skin at all times. One without the other is less effective. Here are some particular reasons why a morning routine is so important:

  • Remove dirt and other things that may be in your pores. Washing your face in the morning before your day helps to remove any dead skin cells, toxins, or oil that your skin has produced during the night. Washing your face is also a good prep to help with the absorption of skincare products applied after washing

  • Hydration: Usually throughout the night our skin tends to dry out through the night. This is especially true during cold and dry climates. That is why in the morning it is super important to build up the moisture levels of the skin. Other than providing a protective layer to the skin, it will also help keep the skin smooth and soft while avoiding signs of aging.

  • Sun Protection: One thing that should never be skipped in your morning skincare routine is applying sunscreen. Using sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher ensures protection from the sun’s harsh rays. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) states that this will help to Keep your skin’s fresh-faced glow and remarkably decrease the risk of developing skin cancer.

7-Step Morning Skin Care Routine for Glowing Skin

Taking care of your skin first thing in the morning can do amazingly in preserving its youth and beauty! Before bed most of us take care of our skin. Most of us follow a nighttime skin care routine, but what about a mounting skin care routine? A morning routine isn’t any less important than a nighttime routine. It can help you look fresh throughout the day and has many other important factors. So, here is the ultimate guide to help you prep your skin in the morning.

The Best Morning Skin Care Routine

Step 1: Start with A Cleansing Oil

The first thing I do is use a cleansing oil to remove any leftover sneaky makeup and dirt left in my pores. Not only does it clear off makeup and cleanse the skin it also softens it too. I use Bliss Makeup Melt™ Jelly Facial Cleanser. It is a jelly-like makeup remover and cleanser for normal to dry skin. It is also great for sensitive skin. Easily dissolves makeup with a swipe of a cotton ball on dry skin and gently removes dirt, grime, makeup and impurities on wet skin, if you want to use it as a makeup remover and a cleanser. Massage onto dry skin with a cotton pad, including over eyes, then add water and rinse. Finally, rinse with warm water. Do not dry your face.

Step 2: Follow-Up with A Deep Cleansing Cream

I prefer to use more natural face cleansers for my skin type. I tend to gently clean and soften my skin with Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream. This cleanser is made with natural soap bark to gently remove dirt, excess oil and makeup and then infused with chamomile and aloe to soften skin. This face wash also has a hint of menthol, this gives your skin a nice cool feeling like aloe put on a fresh sunburn or like a fresh piece of mint gum on the tongue. Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream is 98.2% natural origin and contains no parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS. It leaves your skin looking beautiful and naturally healthy, that you can see a difference overnight and that is why I love this product.

All you have to do is wet your face and apply cleanser with fingertips or a wet washcloth, whatever you prefer. Massage gently and avoid the eye area, but if you do get it in your eye don’t freak out you will be fine. It does not cause a burning feeling, but because of the menthol it does feel that way, but it is just that cool feeling I mentioned earlier. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

Step 3: Use A Toner

Toning your face is very important. After I have finished washing my face and drying it off, I use a toner. I preferably like to use Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner. This toner gently removes excess oils and impurities without over drying, leaving skin soft, smooth, naturally balanced and purified. Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner will not dry out your skin or irritate it. This formula is also 100% natural. This toner is pore perfecting and will help shrink pores and clear them out. It is Dermatologist recommended witch hazel and perfect for sensitive skin. This witch hazel toner is good for daily use, I use it for my morning and night routine. To use on the face, moisten a cotton ball or pad and apply it to the face and neck.

Step 4: Don’t Forget the Serum

Serums are highly vigorous blends that target and solve specific skin problems. Choose a serum depending on the problem you have, and it will show results. But for me I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum. This serum targets dryness to deliver hydration, so this serum formula contains hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the skin. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum instantly absorbs to hydrate the skin and deliver high hydration levels. It is oil free and non-comedogenic, so it won't clog pores. And all you have to do is apply evenly to your face and neck after cleansing.

Step 5: Moisturize Well

Depending on your skin type, a good tip to follow is to choose a creamy, moisturizing lotion or a water-based gel based on your skin type. This will help to nourish and lock the moisture into your skin. The point of moisturizer is to protect your skin from drying through the day.

Clean & Clear Essentials Dual Action Acne Facial Moisturizer is a good daily facial moisturizer. This moisturizer is made for acne prone skin that is oil free and good for all skin types. It provides a clearer, healthier looking skin without over drying the skin. It is made with 0.5% salicylic acid, which is an acne medication that targets pimples and prevents breakouts. To use, just take a few blobs and smoothly pat it over your face and neck. Massage it into your skin till the moisturizer is fully absorbed.

Step 6: Use A Sunscreen

Using sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher ensures protection from the sun’s harsh rays, this will help to protect your skin from sun damage. Sun damage can lead to wrinkles, fine lines, and spots. CeraVe Hydrating Face Sunscreen SPF 50 is developed with Dermatologists. 100% Mineral-based sunscreen which reflects the sun's rays to protect skin. It is oxybenzone free, oil free, paraben free, fragrance free, chemical-filter free. It won’t clog pores and has a low risk factor of irritation. Is suitable for sensitive skin and okay for children. Just like any other lotion or moisturizer all you have to do is apply sunscreen and massage it into your skin evenly until absorbed.

Step 7: Protect with an Eye Cream

The thinnest and most sensitive part of your face is your under eyes. It is best to use products specifically for this area. Under eye cream is usually best for dryness, wrinkles, and puffiness. I love to use ONA brightening eye cream. This eye cream is a lightweight cream infused with Peptides and Vitamin E. This eye cream brightens and reduces dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. It is perfect for all skin types, even sensitive skin. ONA brightening eye cream contains Açaí Berry, Aloe Vera, Birch Tree Extract, Camelia Oil and Centella Asiatica. This will cause lasting hydration, will protect the skin from environmental damage and reduce signs of aging. On top of all of this it contains no sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde, artificial coloring, dimethicone, mineral oil, and phthalate. ONA brightening eye cream is very simple to use as well. Apply to cleansed skin around the eye area.

Tips To Make the Most of Your Morning Skin Care Routine

Investing in a morning skincare routine is overall beneficial to your skin’s health and appearance. I also find it a great way to give myself a few extra minutes in the morning before a busy day, it’s a great time to think about your day and things you would like to accomplish. If you are like some of us and like your skin to look fresh and glowing throughout the day it is a good idea to invest in a good morning routine.

To wrap all this up remember, cleansing your face with a cleansing oil to get rid of the dirt that has built up over the night is the perfect first step in a skincare routine. Then clean your face with a face cleanser and use a toner to get rid of any remaining dirt and restore the pH level. Also don’t forget your serum, sunscreen, and moisturizer to hydrate the skin.
